Thanks for the interest in the team. I feel this is the perfect match for many of you, especially those leading busy lives. The racing group looks good and should give you a nice team to work with.
We will concentrate on the Road racing events as well as Mountain bike events. You do not have to race in both disciplines, but should find teammates in both.
We are Low key, but will have some nice core values as a club level race team. I do not believe in making people race a bunch of races. I feel that folks race more if they enjoy themselves and have less pressure.
I will ask that each team member race a minimum of 5 ACA BAR/BAT races during the 2010 season. As well, each team member has to volunteer for at least 1 local event. So in theory, if the team guys take part and each volunteers at an event, then most of you can race the season very low cost since ACA events sometimes passes out free entry with volunteering. Communication will be a strong value in the team.
1. Pro Level clothing with dues. (Additional accessories are also available) these are not available to the club or the general public. I recommend that team members purchase a standard race fit club jersey for training if the budget does not allow them to purchase additional team level cloths.
2. Training assistance and a discounted training program with Colorado Premier Training (CPT). The basic plan can be adapted to your annual training hours.
3. Team google group and communication forum. This will be private and separate from the club so that teammates can talk strategy and talk smack as needed.
4. Team guys will of course be members of V1 and will be bunked together at the annual 3 day training camp in Estes Park. The camp is not Free, but is priced very nicely for all V1 members.
5. Velo-One organizes seasonal seminars throughout the year, which will be Free to all team and club members.
6. I will offer Team support at select races.Teammates are also encouraged to offer support at races that they are not racing in.
7. Team members get a FREE nutritional/diet consult.
8. Teammates ate treated equally. Male/Female, Old/Young...are treated the same. We are proud of every team rider that takes the time to race their bike and help out their mates.
2011 may see the increase in available funds, but I want to see how everyone responds in 2010. For those who stick around and show V1 pride, we will develop a Team board that will have the ultimate deciding power in years to come.
If this sounds good to you, please fill out the necessary paperwork, and include a competed ACA license application. I will input all the club data when it is mailed in.
ALL V1 RACERS ARE EXPECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN A SELECT NUMBER OF KEY EVENTS WILL BE EXPECTED TO VOLUNTEER AND HELP TEAMMATES THROUGHOUT THE SEASON. ALL VELO-ONE CLUB MEMBERS FOLLOW A STRICT CODE OF CONDUCT WHILE ON AND OFF THE BIKE.
